“Where there’s pain, there’s often a deeper problem or biomechanical imbalance. We not only treat the pain, but also work to remedy the root of that pain with every client.”

What does Neurological Physiotherapy provide
Rehabilitation is all about reaching your potential to maximise participation in life. The world health organisation defines rehabilitation as ‘a process aimed at enabling people to reach and maintain their optimal physical, sensory, intellectual, psychological and social functional levels. Rehabilitation provides disabled people with the tools they need to attain independence and self-determination’.
All neurological presentations are completely different as well as patients functional needs. Treatment in turn needs to be developed according to patients preference, needs and individual goals. Treatment is based on the latest medical evidence and may include:
- Musculoskeletal treatment for chronic conditions
- Managing muscle spasticity and contractures
- Exercise programs aimed to: improve balance & walking ability, adapt body awareness & motor control, regain and normalise upper limb & hand function
- Fatigue management
- Individualised fitness and strengthening programmes
- Desensitivity exercises to combat phantom pain and paresthesia
